Geoff Ryan

A self-proclaimed “construction nerd,” Geoff Ryan has long harbored a keen interest in how things are put together.

Whether it’s fixing or building something, renovating a home, or completing a landscaping project, everything associated with construction has consistently excited Geoff. His interest was further cultivated while working as a greenskeeper at the Cincinnati Country Club in high school and college, where he learned more about the industry through performing golf course maintenance and participating in construction projects.

Deciding to pursue the field as a career, while he was a college student at the University of Cincinnati Geoff participated in a co-op program at a small residential and construction company where he gained a lot of hands-on experience and learned the ins and outs of the industry. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology Geoff worked in the construction industry on the design side but was only involved in one or a few aspects of a project – and there were many other areas that Geoff realized he also wanted to be involved in.

While working at local structural engineering firm Schaefer for several years as a Modeler, Geoff was exposed to the commercial construction industry where he discovered a chance to pursue a new role that would better mesh with his more hands-on personality and allow him to be more involved in the entire process – not just a part of it. To pursue his newfound passion for commercial construction, Geoff proactively took on various small, internal construction and office improvement projects at Schaefer.

His hard work paid off when he was asked to lead the relocation process for the company’s headquarters, where Geoff realized that he loved the all-encompassing nature of the role that provided him the ability to collaborate with the many people working on the project while managing the process onsite. It was while overseeing this project that Geoff was first introduced to Terrex, and after working directly with the team he realized that the family-like environment and culture, coupled with his interest in further pursuing commercial construction, would be a great fit for the next step in his career.

Geoff joined Terrex in 2020, where he manages the entire construction process for clients. At Terrex, Geoff takes great pride in the way that the team approaches projects to create something truly great for clients and ensure that every project is completed as promised. He also relishes the variety of daily tasks and the ability to manage projects onsite instead of sitting at a desk all day, allowing him to truly live up to his “construction nerd” persona.

Beyond Terrex, Geoff an active member of the community, serving as the young professionals committee chair and young professional’s representative on the board of directors for Allied Construction Industries; a crew leader for People Working Cooperatively; and the festival co-chair for St. Thomas More Church. Geoff also is a recipient of the Allied Construction Industries Rising Star Award for his outstanding work in the industry.

Geoff resides in Amelia with his wife, daughter, two cats, and dog. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, camping, fishing, attending music concerts, and spending time with his family. And, like any good “construction nerd”, Geoff takes great joy in woodworking and working on building projects around his home!
