For the first time, Cincinnati has made the list of innovation districts compiled by the authors of the Brookings Institution’s “Rise of Innovation Districts.”
The Uptown Innovation Corridor in Cincinnati was one of more than 70 innovation districts listed in the Global Institute on Innovation Districts’ inaugural research brief entitled “The Evolution of Innovation Districts: The New Geography of Global Innovation.” The institute launched in June after four years of work by Julie Wagner and Bruce Katz, the authors of The Brookings Institution’s “Rise of Innovation Districts” 2014 research.
David Adams, chief innovation officer at the University of Cincinnati and CEO of 1819 Innovation Hub, stressed the significance of Cincinnati being listed alongside other established innovation districts.
